Smoothies with Living Ingredients

Basic Sprouted Living Almond Milk
1 cup almonds (soaked overnight)
3 cups water
Rinse almonds before blending.
Place almonds in blender with water and mix until smooth.
Strain through a sprout bag into pitcher.
Place back in blender and add smoothie ingredients of your choice.

Smoothie Ideas
VANILLA or CAROB ALMOND MILK
3 cups almond milk
3-5 Dates
½ tsp. vanilla extract
or 
1-2 tsp. carob powder

BANANA ALMOND NOG
3 cups almond milk
1 banana
pinch nutmeg
1 Tbsp. agave nectar

Almond Milk has a 2-3 day shelf life.






Kashmiri Delight

½ tsp. Cardamom
½ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Cloves
½ tsp. Ginger
¼ tsp. Nutmeg
Pinch Saffron
½ tsp. Ginseng
1 Qt. Almond milk
Vanilla & Honey to taste.

1. Grind spices together.
2. Simmer spices in milk for three minutes.
3. Remove. Strain. Add vanilla & honey or agave.

Almonds contribute to lowering cholesterol levels and reducing the risk of coronary heart disease,. Researchers are finding that eating almonds may reduce the impact carbohydrate- rich food has on blood sugar levels. Preliminary data highlight that eating almonds along with carbohydrate-rich foods creates a slower rise in blood sugar, which may increase satiety and help to keep insulin levels from fluctuating too dramatically. They also support skin and hair health (due to high alpha-tocopherols, Vitamin E), reduce anemia, support cell regeneration, serve as antioxidants, supports bone mineral density, and is a laxative.

A handful, of almonds is all it takes! They are an excellent source of vitamin E and magnesium, and a good source of fiber. They also offer heart-healthy monounsaturated fat, protein, potassium, calcium, phosphorous and iron.
